Co-Presidents' Message

Good afternoon, Mt. Bethel families,

💚 The PTA is so excited to celebrate Exceptional Children's Week this week. Our committee has done a superb job preparing activities for both our Exceptional Learners and our entire student body to improve understanding and inclusion for all students. Everyone is encouraged to wear silly socks and hats on Friday, too, in celebration that we are all different and unique. Lots more great detail can be found below.

💙 There is still time to purchase Spark Acceptance before Ms. Inman's visit to Mt. Bethel on Tuesday, and don't forget about the parent and caregiver panel discussion we will be hosting for all Mt. Bethel parents on Thursday, Jan. 22 at 10 am. Details for both are below.

💜 Reminder! There is no school tomorrow, Monday, January 19th, in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

Wishing you an extraordinary week ahead,

~ Amy Stewart & Sarah Downer

We are so excited to announce that Mt. Bethel will be celebrating Exceptional Children’s Week, Jan 20th - 23rd.  This will be a time that we all come together to acknowledge some exceptional students within our own school community. As a school of character, we want to encourage curiosity, questions, acceptance, and inclusion by sharing how all children and people have something to contribute with unique perspectives and talents that help make the world a richer and more interesting place. During this week, each grade level will focus on one exceptionality, learning about some of those individuals' experiences and what they can do.

K- Visually impaired

1st- Orthopedically impaired

2nd- Deaf and hard of hearing

3rd- Dyslexia/Dysgraphia/Learning disability

4th- Autism

5th - Down syndrome

The more we can share information, the more we can empower all generations to embrace everyone and encourage acceptance! We hope you take this opportunity to discuss with your child what they learned during this week.

Inclusion is within everyone’s ability!

Silly Sock or Silly Hat Day, Friday, Jan. 23rd

Don't Chromosomes look like socks? We think they do!

Help us celebrate Exceptional Children's Week! On Friday, students are encouraged to wear silly socks, two different socks or a silly hat to celebrate that we are all different. Because — different is cool!

Parent & Caregiver Panel

Join us for a panel discussion during Exceptional Children’s Week, featuring real-life perspectives from Mt. Bethel parents and simple ways to support inclusion at home and in our school community.

We invite ALL MBES parents to attend on Thursday, Jan 22nd at 10AM @ MBES.
Rise Coffee will be on site and providing complimentary coffee!

We hope to see you there!
