What My Culture Means to Me

All students are invited to participate in the 2026–2027 National PTA Reflections Program!

Reflections is a National PTA and Georgia PTA cultural arts competition that gives students the opportunity to explore their creativity and express themselves through original works of art.

Since 1969, more than 10 million students nationwide have participated in Reflections. Each year, students from Pre-K through Grade 12 create original works inspired by a student-selected theme. The program encourages students to explore their thoughts, feelings and ideas, develop artistic skills, build confidence, and discover the joy of creating.

Culture can mean something different to everyone. Students are encouraged to explore the people, traditions, experiences, places, beliefs, stories, celebrations, and other things that help shape who they are.

📅 Important Deadline

Entries are due Friday, October 16, 2026

2026–2027 Reflections submissions will be collected ONLINE ONLY.

Please plan ahead so your student has enough time to complete their artwork and submit it before the deadline.

🎨 How to Participate

Students may submit original works of art created entirely by the student. Entries are evaluated at the school level first. Two winners per grade level, per category will advance to ECCC and potentially to the State and National levels.

Entries are evaluated based on:

  • Creativity
  • Technical Skill
  • Interpretation of the Theme

Students may enter in one or more of these categories:

📚 Literature
🎵 Music Composition
📸 Photography
🎨 Visual Arts
⭐ Special Artist Category

💡 Why Participate?

Reflections is about much more than competition. It gives students a chance to:

  • Unleash their creative talents and be inspired
  • Express themselves imaginatively through art
  • Experience the joy and fun of making art
  • Use critical-thinking skills to create art inspired by the annual theme
  • Receive positive recognition for their original work

Whether your child has been creating art for years or simply has an idea they’re excited about, we encourage them to participate!
